Skinimalism | The Make Up Minimalism | Divya Toshniwal |

I came across this new term: Skinimalism, and I am instantly in love with it.  Skinimalism can be explained as going with minimal products on your skin. Skinimalism is the makeup minimalism.  Till a year ago, the trends in the beauty industry was filled with heavy make-up looks. Even the no-makeup look had layers of products on your skin. Not only did people put on makeup for occasions but it had become a part of our everyday life. Women would spend hours before stepping out of the house to put on makeup and style their hair and then again a half before going on to the bed to remove it all. With the Covid-19 lockdown and staying home for longer periods of time, we actually turned to the no make-up phase in our lives. Many of my make-up products expired too. Though I have been into minimalism for more than a couple of years now there were still a lot of products that I used on my skin. But the year 2020 has brought about this great change where I do not even ...

Meditation helps you to be at peace with yourself. It boosts your spiritual power, relaxes your mind, helps you take control of your thoughts and inspires you to live with a positive attitude. Different types of meditation have different effects on your brain. Here I list 7 popular types of meditation.
1. Mindfulness Meditation: Mindfulness meditation trains you to focus on what you are thinking or feeling in the present moment. It is all about now at this moment. It inspires you to concentrate on your senses- what you see, what you hear, what you smell, what you taste and what you feel. It helps you concentrate on your current thoughts and emotional state. It increases your concentration power and helps you have clarity of thoughts that were otherwise tangled.

2.Transcendental Meditation: This meditation helps you avoid the distracting thoughts and feelings to bring you closer to serenity. A mantra is used in repetition and the total focus is on that mantra so that no other thoughts can occupy your mind. Transcending means going into deep rest. Transcendental meditation helps to avoid the tangle of thoughts by focusing on one mantra and forgetting everything else that is going on inside.
3. Guided Imagery: Guided meditation or guided imagery uses the tool of visualization to fulfill the purpose of calming your mind. It is a gentle but really powerful technique that focuses on imagination. The effectiveness of the process can be enhanced by making customized imageries particular to the participant's needs.

4. Vipassana Sadhna: Believed to be practiced and taught by Buddha himself, this form of meditation concentrates on the natural breathing. The aim is to transform yourself through self-observation. It increases your observation power by helping you to focus on your breathing patterns.

5.Kundalini Meditation: Kundalini meditation is a part of Kundalini Yoga and meant to move energy through the body. Meditation in Kundalini Yoga contains specific, practical tools that carefully and precisely support the mind and guide the body through the use of breath, mantra, mudra, and focus.
6.Zen Meditation: Finding its origin in Buddhism, this is the most popular type of meditation with people in Japan. There are 3 most common techniques for zen meditation. Observation of the breath, Quiet awareness and Intensive group meditation.

7. Movement Meditation: Mostly the meditation practices have explored stillness but another type of meditation that has taken front seat in the previous decade is Movement Meditation. This type of meditation helps you realise and better control your bodies. It exploits the mind and body connection and allows you to connect to your mind through establishing a connection to your body.
